Learning the business of science; Teachers take summer jobs at area tech companies to foster greater student interest in math and science career fields.(Business)

TROY - Bruce Allen, a teacher at Bethlehem High School, is spending his summer working at SuperPower Inc. in Schenectady.

It's not that the 42-year-old English teacher wanted to earn some extra cash. It's that he hopes in instill in his students a greater love of science and technology - yes, even in creative writing class.

Allen is one of 27 teachers around the region given jobs at leading technology companies in the area. It's a program created by the Tech Valley Chamber Coalition, which is made up of 24 regional chambers of commerce.
